Bigger is Better?
JR exhibits his photographs in the biggest art gallery on the planet. His work is presented freely in the streets of the world, catching the attention of people who are not museum visitors. His work mixes Art and Action; it talks about commitment, freedom, identity and limit.

Coverting Color to Black & White
For this assignment, you will chose one color image and convert it to black and white using Photoshop.
First, convert the color image just by switching the mode to "Grayscale." Next, convert the image using the Channel Mixer method. Display, the original color image, the grayscale converted image, and the channel mixer converted image on your blog.
Print out both the color image and the channel mixer converted black and white image to fit on an 8x10" paper.

CALL FOR ENTRIES for Book Publication, Exhibition
Entry Postmark Deadline: midnight MDT April 8, 2011
Entry Fee: $ 30.00 (for up to 5 entries)
Accepted Artists Notified: Late April
Hit That Shutter Is pleased to announce a call for entries for publication in a professionally printed collection of undergraduate work from around the country. Randomly selected submissions will be periodically featured on the Hit That Shutter website. Images will be reviewed by a panel including Hit That Shutter members and invited jurors. The jury will review and select from the submissions. One or more images from selected artists will be included in the publication. The Top Ten selected artists will receive a copy of the finished book. Entrants who wish to purchase a copy of the book may do so though the Blurb.com bookstore; details will be posted at HitThatShutter.org after the book has been published.

Students in any undergraduate program with a concentration of photography can submit any photographically derived work. The purpose of this publication is to present a collection of current work from Undergraduate Photography Programs nationwide. This publication will act as a survey of the current trends and present a moment in contemporary photography.

Restoration Assignment
Restoration Assignment: Restore 3 old photographs.
1) Scan the images at a high enough resolution to be able to print them out at the largest size you can get them on an 8x10 piece of paper.
2) Use the tools you've learned in class to color correct the image and retouch it.
3) Print each of the 3 restored images out.
4) Post both the photographs without any corrections along with the restored photographs on your blog.
